"The Apollonian and Dionysian conflict of Nietzsche's fame is a reasonable way to frame my current work. If one does not easily tolerate Nietzsche, the koan “Boy Meets Girl…” or Siddhartha by Herman Hesse are other recommended starting places."

"My work balances on the thread-thin line between art and craft -- that seam line that holds our desires together rather than a space where hierarchy within expression feels necessary. Quilts are, to me, often a physical manifestation of our desire for order and repetition. My work often lives within the tension of our reach for perfection within human manual imprecision and embraces the beauty in letting go of our preconceived notions of perfection.

"This image titled ‘Death’ is a lumen photogram. It is a scanned photogram of a dead leaf of cabbage exposed by the sun on a piece of photographic paper. It is a commentary on the pandemic and what climate change is doing to the planet."
